Nostalgic steam train trip through the Murau Woodland
In the summer season, a nostalgic steam train rattles along the picturesque mountain scenery and the beautifully green Mur every Tuesday and Thursday, from Murau to Tamsweg.
Even the Austro-Hungarian emperor Franz Joseph was sitting in its historical wagons once, while traveling to Murau for hunting chamois. Guests can choose from Steirerbar and Murtalbar buffet wagons - the second one was originally the salon wagon of Emperor Franz Joseph - and enjoy a refreshing drink and the landscape. The nostalgic train service offers free bicycles transport (except for e-bikes) so it's a perfect opportunity to return from Tamsweg on the famous Murradweg back to Murau by bike.
