Sölktäler Natur Park
With its total area of 288 km2 the Sölktäler nature park offers more than 40 peaks over 2 000 meters, 23 mountain lakes, 10 waterfalls, 25 cultivated Alms and a 24 hours per day recreation.
The Sölktäler is one of the largest natural parks in Styria. It has such protected areas like the marble cave of Sölk or its picturesque lakes such as the Schwarzensee, the largest lake of the Niedere Tauern.
The name "Sölk" originally means "fluent water" which is due to the great abundance of water in the region.
