Early Season or Peak Season?
The peak season runs from December 25 to March 15. If your main goal is to enjoy the best possible skiing conditions, this may be the safer choice. Lachtal’s altitude of 1,600–2,222 metres is a major advantage, as the entire ski area is more likely to be operational during this period, with more stable snow conditions and more hours of sunshine. January and February are particularly good months for those looking for firmer, faster slopes and classic winter conditions.
One of the main advantages of the early season (December 4–24) is that adult day passes are approximately 10% cheaper, while the 6-day ski pass costs €293.50 compared with €326 during the peak season. There are also significantly fewer people, meaning shorter queues at the lifts. This can be particularly pleasant for beginner and intermediate skiers, as the slopes are less crowded.Thanks to Lachtal’s high altitude, there is also a good chance of suitable snow conditions in December.
