Sölk Pass
Since the late Bronze Age, the highest mountain pass of Styria was used by people and later it worked as an important trade route. The Sölk Pass connects the Murtal with the Ennstal and its highest point is located at an altitude of 1788 m. It is generally closed during the winter months and will be reopened round May again.
Even in the ancient times was delivered salt from the North by the hemmers via the Sölkpass to Italy and transported in return wine and spices,
cereals and citrus fruits from South. Each July hosts the celebration of hemmers on Sölk Pass.
